Request for an apology from Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson

Dear sirs,
On September 13, 2001, Dr. Falwell stated that the whole reason the tragic events of September 11 occurred was because God was angry at "all (those) who have tried to secularize America." Mr. Robertson concurred with these statements.
Dr. Falwell claims on his Web site, falwell.com, that his statements were taken out of context. However, it is difficult to see how his comments could have been read any other way.
It is bad enough that you attempted to scapegoat people in the face of such a horrible tragedy. But for Dr. Falwell to lie about it only makes it worse.
We, the undersigned, ask that you apologize to all the people you denounced.
