Our content is since a person age 65 years and above is not capable of running an institute like AIIMS, the same holds good for Ministers, and Members of Parliament. We hope that the esteem Members take notice of this logic and pass the law, as swiftly as we have seen in case of AIIMS.
For your benefit, the background of the matter is as stated below -
The Presidential assent to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (Amendment) Bill 2007, paved the way to ease out incumbent P Venugopal.
The bill was introduced in the Parliament in August 2007. The bill seeks to fix the term of the Director for five years from the day he or she assumes office or until he/she attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
The amendment bill also gives the government the right to terminate the office of the Director at any time before the expiry of his/her term by giving him/her a notice of three months with salary and allowances.
