Save Hurstville Cycling Track

From great Australian cricketers such as The Don, to the stars of Rugby League and Rugby Union, Hurstville Oval has seen it all. The long established cycling club, Australian rules football, concerts and festivals.
This is all under threat.
The NSW/ACT AFL in conjunction with St George Crows A.F.C wish to remove the cycling track, one of the most iconic features of the ground, to accomodate a larger AFL field. This will not only alter the very fabric of the ground's spirit, but the damage cause by the centre circle of the AFL field will be significant on the cricket pitch.
Long regarded as the best suburban cricket ground in Sydney we do not wish to see the cricket pitch destroyed, the cycling club lose its track and its existence, as well as a piece of history destroyed.
Fortunate is not the word to describe what the residents of Hurstville are. Decimated is only the beggining if this piece of history is taken away from us.
St George Crows A.F.C does not NEED to remove the track. They do it out of greed and a lack of consideration for the other sports in the region.
Save the cycling club. Save the track. Save history.
Save Hurstville Oval, for if we don't, then nothing is sacred and the essence of community is forever lost.
