Save Our Playgrounds, Save Our City

Anti-Trade Organisations will be gathering in Hong Kong to hold protests during the World Trade Organisation (WTO) conference in December 2005.

Hong Kong is a trading port. More global trade lifts people out of poverty and has made Hong Kong great. We, the undersigned, do not want our government to support anti-trade protestors who seek to undermine Hong Kong's livelihood.

They have demanded the Hong Kong Government allow them to camp and protest at the Southorn Gardens (Wan Chai) and Victoria Park (Tin Hau). And they want to displace Hong Kong users of these parks and use our tax dollars to do it.

If the Government agrees to these demands, local residents will lose their parks for a week. The protesters pose a risk to public property, safety and hygiene, as has been seen during the WTO meetings in Seattle and Rome when millions of dollars damage was done.

We, the undersigned, request the Hong Kong government not subsidise groups who seek to undermine our way of life and source of prosperity. We ask you to put the interests of Hong Kong people first.
