Hundreds of wild horses on Palm Island, 65km off Nth Qld,Australia, have endured torture, beatings and starvation but RSPCA inspectors say the Dept of Primary Industries has "washed its hands" of the issue.
Some extreme abuse and cruelty cases include:
BRUMBIES having their legs bound tightly together with wire and beaten with blocks of wood;
A MARE being slashed with a sickle before battery acid was poured over her wounds;
A MARE in foal being stabbed in the stomach;
A HORSE deliberately wedged between a pole and a house and left to die;
FOALS ridden at a gallop in tropical heat until they collapsed and died;
HORSES with their hooves worn down to the flesh being galloped on bitumen roads using wire bridles which shred their mouths;
HIDEOUS fly-blown saddle sores the size of dinner plates, left untreated;
HORSES flogged with barbed wire and impaled with objects.
What needs to be done??
These horses need to be RESCUED and taken to mainland Australia immediately.
ACTION MUST BE TAKEN TO SAVE THE LIVES OF THESE BEAUTIFUL AND HELPLESS CREATURES. WE URGE YOU, AS THE PEOPLE IN POWER TO END THIS SENSELESS TORTURE AND KNOW THAT THE WORLD WILL NOT SIT BACK AND LET YOU WASH YOUR HANDS OF THIS!!
