As some of you may heard recent statements by George Lucas claim that he will not include the original versions of the Star Wars Trilogy (Episodes 4 - 6) on DVD release.
Lucas said simply "I don't think so. I think of the film as the Special Edition, I don't think of it as the early version, any more than I would put early rough cuts on. I could put four or five rough cuts onto the thing and say, 'This is how it advanced.' I consider the Special Edition as being the final version at this point. I don't even worry about the other ones, because it went through a lot of incarnations to get to the final stage."
He is also going to film new footage with Natalie Portman to include in the remake of Return of the Jedi.
We don't want him to **** up a classic so please sign this petition to at least get him to include the original untouched version of the trilogy in the DVD release.
Please get as many people to sign this as the more signatures the more chance we have.

I really lost it when this petition said that "Return of the Jedi" was a "classic." LOL! "Return of the Jedi" should have been called "Star Wars meets Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the Muppets." What a joke of a film, and what a pathetic ending to the original

I think that the special edition triology should be released on DVD and also the modified one on video and DVD to give everyone a fair chance of viewing it! We do not know what kind of scenes will be added! So lets all keep an open mind!
