County Executive Jack Johnson and members of the Prince George's County Council have presented a proposal to the Maryland State Department of Education for a waiver of the "Maintenance of Effort" for funding our school budget at least at the rate it was funded this year. County Executive Johnson is planning on taking an additional 23.6 million out of the Board of Education budget on top of the $36 million in cuts that have already been proposed. This may lead to a reduction in services for our students, increased class size and elimination of core classroom reforms. Prince George's County has taken major steps in raising test scores, and was key in helping Maryland earn a #1 ranking in Education by two nationally recognized publications. We cannot turn back!!!

There are problems now at the school with over size classes... my children are not being taught now I'm having to go up to the school every other day to see how the teachers are handling the classes.
