Dear Ubisoft,
The following petition relates to your Xbox 360 game title, Splinter Cell: Double Agent.
The information listed on the back of the Splinter Cell: Double Agent case clearly states "players 1-3, system link 2-3, online multiplayer 2-6, co-op 2-3".
Since there are separate listings for "online" and "system link" play, it is safe to assume that the primary listing, "players 1-3", means no Xbox Live account or system link required, i.e., 1-3 player split-screen on a single Xbox 360 console. This is not the case with our retail copies of SC: DA for Xbox 360.
As it stands, your product is advertising itself falsely. Many of us based our decision to purchase Double Agent on the fact that the capacity for 1-3 players per Xbox 360 console was listed on the box, outside of the requirements of Xbox Live and system link.
We demand that Ubisoft release a downloadable software update, allowing their game to truthfully reflect its advertised features. By this, meaning split-screen mode for multiple players per Xbox 360 console.
Your response is eagerly awaited by all involved in the petition.
