Stop Abuse of Power at Russell Sage JHS 190

Whereas, we believe, when it comes to young children it is better to educate than to incarcerate;

Whereas we want our children to be educated in a nurturing and supportive environment,

Whereas we believe that discipline must be applied with common sense and good judgment;

Whereas we object to the over-policing of schools;

Whereas we object to children being arrested without cause;

Whereas we object to extreme punishment that doesnt fit the offense;

Whereas we object to the abrogation of due process rights;

Whereas we object to the senseless arrest of 12 year-old Alexa Gonzalez for doodling I love my friends...." on her desk;

We, the undersigned, concerned citizens, parents, and children in support of enlightened public education;

Demand a stop to the abuse of power at Russell Sage Middle School;

Demand a full investigation and action taken to protect our children.
