We, the undersigned, believe in the Conservative Tenets of the Mazdayasni Zarthusti Faith.
We believe:
That a Zoroastrian, Parsi or Irani, (henceforth referred to as Zoroastrian) is one born of BOTH Zoroastrian Parents.
It is NOT possible to be converted into our religion, only born into it.
Navjotes, Weddings, Paidus, and other liturgical ceremonies can only be performed on Zoroastrians. We support our Priests who adhere to these rules.
The BPP is WRONG in allowing (in some circumstances) Zoroastrian males who have married non-Zoroastrian Females to be called Zoroastrians. Our religion is one of gender equality and has never allowed Zoroastrian men (or women) to marry outside the religion.
Our religious institutions are NOT public facilities. Dokhmas, Agyaris and Atash Behrams were created by private families and trusts for the use of like-minded Zarthustis. This is evidenced by the omnipresent signs outside our places of worship.
Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds, is an essential part of Zoroastrianism. However those tenets alone do not make a religion, but rather a philosophy. If a Zoroastrian wishes to practice Zoroastrianism, they must also practice various other spiritual tenets of our religion such as wearing the Sudreh and Kusti.
Liberal minded people are entitled to their own opinion, and should NOT force us, our priests, and our institutions to practice their version of Zoroastrianism. We wish to practice Zoroastrianism the way it has been practiced for millennia.
Please sign and forward this petition to all like-minded individuals so that we can show them that we are NOT silent and NOT a minority.
