Egyptian troops are not welcome in Darfur

Darfur civil societies, Darfur communities in Diaspora, Darfur rights groups , Sudanese activists and the people of Darfur declare their rejection of Egyptian troops as part of peacekeeping force encompassed in UN Security Council resolution 1769. The reasons for rejecting Egyptian troops in Darfur are as follow:

1)The government of Egypt is an ally to and supports the policy of the Sudanese government, the government that has committed war crimes, crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing.

2) In 2005, Egyptian security force committed a mass slaughter on refugees from Darfur and Southern Sudan in Muhandiseen.

3) Egyptian government continues arresting Darfur activists and putting them in jails.

4) Egyptian security force continues arresting and killing Darfur refugees who try to pursuit security in Israel.

All these hostile acts of Egyptian government against the people of Darfur are against the principles and protocols of international humanitarian and human rights laws. Therefore, we, as people of Darfur reject Egyptian troops in Darfur as part of UNAMID.
