This petition is to address the utmost dissatisfaction towards Mitsubishi Motors Corp & Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia that is felt by hundreds of buyers of the Mitsubishi Lancer (GT/GTS/GLS/EX) in Malaysia.
The launch of the Proton Inspira has made our car no longer exclusive as it used to be. And we also feel not satisfied, as the Inspira is almost 99\% same, with only minor changes to the body. We would not be able to enjoy the exclusiveness that we paid for with our hard earned money, as it will only take a few changes to transform the Inspira to a Lancer.
Yes, alot of manufacturers rebadge cars, but rebadging a car that is already being sold for a few years for a cheaper price? It seems to me that Lancer owners have been ripped off. And then there's the issue of CKD vs CBU. The Inspira has the exact 4B11 and CVT found in the Lancer, everything is the same! Most Lancer owners are not concerned about the price, but are quite disgusted at the idea of not being 'exclusive' anymore. Being 'exclusive' was one of the main reasons we chose Mitsubishi.
I had called Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia numerous times, but I have not got a proper answer. Among the answers given were : "We are sorry" and "Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia didnt know about the deal between Mitsubishi and Proton"
This is the voice of the real customers who chose Mitsubishi over other more prominent Japanese cars in Malaysia.
Our hope is that Mitsubishi Motors Corp would compensate current Lancer owners.
