A Pomise to Honor 9/11

As we remember the events that took place 5 years ago, on September 11th, 2001, we ask that you not only remember the victims lost, the lives changed, the damage done, the scars still healing, and the hurt that we all still feel. We also ask that you remember how you changed in the days, weeks and months following this horrifying day. How did 9/11 change you??? Some people called their mother or father, husband or wife, brother, sister, or best friend just to say I love you. Parents put aside everything that usually seems so important like work or TV and grabbed their children and hugged them like never before. We flew the American Flag from our homes, work, and cars. We applauded police and firefighters. We supported the men and women that were sent overseas to fight for our freedom, justice, and security. We appreciated our political leaders for the guidance they provided when our communities seemed to be in chaos. We cried when we sang the National Anthem and God Bless America at sporting events. We cried in honor of lives lost, of innocence lost. But most importantly we cried tears of pride for our country.
5 years later, who are you? Are you the person you were the day before 9/11. The person you were in the weeks following 9/11? Are you somewhere in between?
Today we are asking you to consider where this country would be today if we kept up the ideals that we practiced following 9/11. Freedom, patriotism, lending a selfless helping hand in our communities, flying the red, white, and blue with pride and expressing love for our country and fellow Americans.
Are you willing to make a promise to try to be the person you were in the weeks following 9/11? Are you willing to pledge to honor America and show your pride by flying your American Flag proudly? Are you willing to respect our community leaders, our police and fire fighters, and military for the job they do daily to keep us free and safe? Are you willing to lend a hand in our communities to help those who need our help?
What better way to remember the 5th anniversary of 9/11 than to turn the horrifying events of that day into making our country better, and to tell those responsible for the attacks that you did not tear this county down, you instead made us stronger.
Please sign this petition and leave a comment and starting today lets remember who we were after 9/11, and who we can strive to be as a nation forever.
