There is no doubt that the world is facing an environmental crisis. We are wasting oil, melting the ice caps, and killing animals. I'm sure that there are many, many other people out there who care deeply about the environment like I do. Therefore, I propose, as a concerned teenager, that the California Board of Education creates tighter regulations that can punish students for not recycling their old school papers. I see other teenagers throw paper in the trash can every day, despite the fact that a convieniently-placed recycling bin is placed adjacent. If students were to be punished with something like a lunch detention, they would be more motivated to recycle. This would cut down on California's paper useage tremendously, and would instill eco-friendly habits into today's youth, so that tomorrow can be a brighter day. Sign this petition today!
