Bring Alternative Back to the Summer Ball

We, the undersigned, are students at the University of Essex, Colchester (or non-students who will be attending the Summer Ball 2005,) who wish to make known the fact that we are displeased that there is no alternative music tent at this year's Summer Ball (2005.) While we recognise that there is an Indie tent, we feel this to be insufficient, and would rather see a tent catering to all types of alternative music, including Indie, Metal, Punk and Rock, rather than focusing on one area. By singling out one single alternative genre, ENTS are neglecting many others when it is easily within their means to please the majority.
What we are asking for, then, is the return of last year's tent, run by Projekt Maehem Promotions, which encompassed all forms of alternative music. This was a huge success last year, and should be again this year, were it to be brought back. There is no reason for the ENTS committee not to grant us this - Indie fans will not be left out, as there will be Indie music played, but Metal, Punk and Rock fans will also be catered for. If this is not granted to us, it can only be seen as blatant favouritism towards IndieSoc.
We mean no disrespect to any members of IndieSoc here: we just feel that the majority should be considered before the minority, and that pleasing a small group when a much larger crowd can be satisfied is unjustifiable.
