Close The Backgate Website

It is with the best of intentions that we draft this petition in an effort to ensure that the person or persons who operate "The Backgate Website" and "The Backgate Message Board" cease operations, close their website immediately and end their actions which have a detrimental and prolonged effect on the reputations of correctional officers across the State of Texas.

Their embarrassing mishaps and misspellings are more damaging to the reputation of the correctional officers in Texas than you may initially believe. Their continued promises of "the big story" that is never delivered is unacceptable. The entire website is an embarrassment to correctional staff and offers no legitimate or helpful purpose. The most embarrassing move is their recent petition filled with misspelled words and grammatical errors through out. This document, if sent to Huntsville, would give credibility to the idea that we, as correctional officers, deserve the pay we get and nothing more.

It must end and it must end now. Please, sign this petition which will be forwarded to the registered owner of www.thebackgate.org once completed.
