Control on rash Pune Richshaw driver's

I would like to bring to the notice of all those people who have control over the vehicular traffic in Pune, that the auto-rickshaws plying on Pune roads have become a menace.

I have come to point of starting this petition because of what happened today morning. I was waiting patiently on a signal, with my bikes engine turned off. I had to take a left turn so was waiting on left portion of the road with my indicators on. A rickshaw wanting to take a left came from behind. He was trying to push his vehicle through whatever space was available; since my vehicle was coming in his way of breaking the signal, he started an argument with me for not giving him space to go. This got me agitated because, all I was doing was following the rules and someone who himself was trying to break the rules came by and was causing unnecessary frustration. I gave him the space to move on, but after moving forward, he continued to have a verbal dual with me. He did not move from the signal and waited for signal to turn green. As soon as I moved, he moved his rickshaw into my way and I was forced outside the road. I think that this was a most uncivilized behavior on the part of the rickshaw driver.

Surely there would be many more people who would agree that these guys are the main trouble makers on the road. Most people plying on Pune roads would agree that most rickshaw drivers drive in most unruly fashion. They break signals, park at will, take turns as they please (no indicators) and overtake dangerously. Not just that, they force other law abiding citizens to do the same. It seems there are no traffic rules binding them. I have personally never seen a traffic police take any action against them. Are they above law?

Though, I would not say that each and every rickshaw guy is bad, but I feel most of them are. I request all those troubled by the indecent driving habits of the rickshaw drivers to sign this petition and request the RTO Office and other government and non-government bodies who can control the situation to kindly look into this matter AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
