Dear Microsoft,
Please stop selling XP as soon as possible.
If Windows XP ceases to be an option for Microsoft customers while they are still unwilling to switch to Vista, more people will consider using an alternative operating system such as Linux or Mac OS X. This would greatly aid a vast number of Open Source projects, including OS projects such as Debian and Ubuntu.
More importantly, a major shift away from Microsoft products would be a huge benefit for the general population of computer users. It would make non-Microsoft OS's more mainstream, and thus easier to adopt, and it would improve people's lives by taking away the difficulties of Windows and Windows-based software.
So, please stop selling Windows XP as soon as possible. Preferably while Vista is still an oversized, underwhelming, driver-lacking disappointment.
