Dragonball Z DVD Petition

We, the undersigned, are pleased to see that FUNimation has begun releasing Akira Toriyama's Dragonball Z subtitled on DVD. However, these DVDs are missing content from the original show, and the recently released Trunks DVDs, Mysterious Youth and Prelude to Terror, while enjoyable, contain many flaws that we would like to see corrected.

We, the undersigned, also feel that there are not enough episodes included on each DVD.

This Petition has 3 goals:

1. To include the original Japanese previews and eyecatches on future DVD releases.
2. To include more episodes per DVD.
3. To obtain corrected versions of the Mysterious Youth and Prelude to Terror DVDs.

We believe that the original Japanese previews and eyecatches are important, and we would like to see them included on future DVD releases. Most anime companies include the original Japanese previews and eyecatches on their DVD releases, and we simply feel that there is no reason for FUNimation to exclude them. We also feel that each episode should be surrounded by the appropriate opening and closing themes, and that it is integral to the presentation of the show. Again, most anime companies present their DVDs in this fashion, and we simply do not understand why FUNimation does not.

We also believe that there should be more episodes included on each disc. Although a retail price of $24.95 is comparable to the price of most other anime DVDs, we feel that DBZ is simply too large of a series to offer at that price. By the time each Dragonball Z disc has been released, fans will have purchased an estimated 95 dvds, and will have payed an estimated $2300.00 overall for the enitre series - this is simply too expensive, and we feel that this cost may be hurting FUNimation's sales in the long run, as other fans may feel it is too expensive as well. By adding more episodes per disc, we feel that FUNimation will not only boost sales, but boost production of these discs as well.

Finally, we believe that the recently released Trunks DVDs, Mysterious Youth and Prelude to Terror, should be corrected and re-released. Both discs had numerous technical errors that we feel should've been eliminated before release. We would like for FUNimation to replace these defective DVDs with corrected DVDs, or release the corrected DVDs for retail.

In summary, we, your customers, feel that these DVDs could be greatly improved upon. We are very pleased with FUNimation's decision to release subtitled Dragonball Z DVDs, and we appreciate the effort that goes into producing them.We hope that FUNimation considers our suggestions, and we respect whichever decision is made.
