Drop the case against Ken Denholm

We believe that Ken Denholm should not be singled out and punished for gesticulating towards Hearts supporters on August 26th 2006. Although his actions may not have been appropriate, we feel that he was participating in lighthearted banter which is part of the experience of going to a football match, and does not merit prosecution.

Furthermore, banning him from football stadia, before he has been found guilty of any offence, goes against our basic principal of innocent until proven guilty.

There has been no suggestion that Ken Denholm's actions were in any way Racist or Sectarian, and that it was only a gesticulation that got him in to trouble. If this is the case, then there must be thousands of football fans commiting a breach of the peace all around the country every week.

It is for these reasons, that we believe that the case against Ken Denholm should be dropped immediately.
