Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW) Class

The Northwestern University chapter of ESW seeks to integrate into the engineering curriculum a project-based design course that incorporates sustainable ideals and practices. This class would be based around international projects such as the Panama project, and would involve actual implementation of projects!
We believe that an ESW class at Northwestern University is an excellent avenue to get students interested in the important process of implementing technology in a responsible manner, both locally and in less developed countries. Recently, ESW chapters across the country have been developing such course curricula that incorporate ideals of sustainable development, address ethical issues that arise from technology, and take into account cultural considerations for international projects. A key goal of this course is to equip students with usable, hands-on technical capabilities that could be employed in service to people in need.
Are you interested in taking this class?? We need your input! Show Northwestern administrators and faculty that you would like to participate in the ESW class... Please sign this e-petition to show your interest!
