"General Hospital" Fans Speak Out!

Every single person signing this petition is a viewer and a fan of Daytime's General Hospital. Some of us have been watching the show for decades, while others have only been watching for a few months. Some of us represent the 15-49 (age) demographic while others represent the 50-99 demographic. We are aware of the alarming decline of ratings in all Daytime Soaps these past few years, and we as fans want to help ensure that our favorite soap stays on the air. We all agree on one thing, for General Hospital to be truly successful and for the show to attract many more people, the following things need to happen:


- Less violence portrayed on the show

- More character driven storylines; rather then plot driven storylines.

- Better treatment of women (characters) on the show, with stories told from the female perspective

- Move away from the stories revolving around one particular character and make it more about the entire cast as a whole

- More romance and friendships

- Keep the comedy coming!

- More realistic storylines

- Consistent storytelling

- Balanced character Point of View

- More air time for the show's veteran actors

We know that the 18-25 demographic seems very important to the Executives, but this petition should give you a glimpse into the diversity of General Hospital fans. Targeting towards a certain age group is not what is going to make a show successful; great writing and acting are the two most important ingredients for a successful show. We are very invested in and proud of the incredible talents of General Hospital's cast members! They are Daytime's shining stars, and could shine even brighter when given the best material daytime television has to offer. We hope that you take our views under serious consideration -- for we as viewers are what keeps your show on the air. And as fans, we look forward to seeing it on the air for many more years to come! We hope and look forward to seeing these changes take effect.
