The undersigned respectfully petition your honorable body in hopes of establishing Gilad Shalit as an honorary citizen to the city of Boston. Gilad Shalit has been held captive by the Hamas terrorist organization for the past five years. The Red Cross has continually been denied access to see Gilad over the course of his captivity. In hopes of bringing this issue to light, we respectfully ask you to declare Gilad Shalit an honorary citizen of Boston.

Especially with President Obama turning his back on the Jewish community at this time, this would mean a lot for Jews all over Massachusetts and would be a sign that the United States is with Israel
