Every year, there are 785 suicide attempts by young people in UK and Ireland - 2 per day. There are numerous factors to this - messy divorces, child abuse, but over HALF of these suicide attempts are due to schools & bullying. Does that sound right to you? Does it sound like something that could be easily solved? It is.
However, schools do next to nothing about it. If lucky, the bullies involved will get a slap on the wrist, perhaps a detention & a "don't do that again". Nothing remotely helpful is done to resolve these problems. In Poland, teachers who fail to report violent acts could face up to three years in prison. In the UK and Ireland, nothing happens. These useless tutors still get paid at the end of the day.
The point of this petition is to get harsher punishment for bullies. What we give them is basically laughing in the faces of those families affected by their children taking their own lives. We are quite literally letting these maggots get away with murder.

I know someone who has been at this school for under 3 months, so far they have been pushed over twice and punched in the face and had nonstop verbal abuse. all the dep.head teacher said was, im sure it will sort out
