Having already served over two and a half years in jail for a crime he did not commit, Charles Carroll and his family were ecstatic to learn in August 2007 that a Baltimore jury had found him Not Guilty of second degree rape and other sexual offenses. The verdict confirmed for them what they already knew; Charles Carroll is innocent.

Carrolls family and friends believe that he deserves freedom NOW, but fear that State Prosecutors and the Parole Board will use false allegations from the acquitted case to claim a possible parole violation in regards to a crime that Carroll committed as a teenager. Carroll, who was seventeen at the time, shot and killed a man. After turning himself into the police, he served a seven year sentence for the crime. Upon his release from prison, Carroll pursued his education, secured employment, and worked diligently to provide for his family. Carroll applied for a job at the private school where his daughter attended so that he could spend more time with her and help make a difference in the lives of young people.

Carroll is currently being held on a so-called parole retake warrant and is awaiting notice for a parole hearing. We respectfully demand the immediate release of Charles Carroll!
