L.A. County MTA Expo, Red, and Green Lines

The MTA Board is considering proceeding with preliminary engineering, financing, legal approval, and/or other preparations for three proposed light rail and subway projects. These include the Expo Line running from Downtown to the Westside, the Red Line extension running from North Hollwood to Woodland Hills, and the Green Line extension running from LAX to the San Fernando Valley.

We the undersigned petition the following:

That the MTA Board complete

1. the Expo Line
2. the extension of the Red Line
and
3. the extension of the Green Line

as soon as possible.

Together, these projects will greatly benefit L.A.'s economy through lowered commute times, reduced fuel costs, enhanced worker livability, and increased tourism; its environment through increased population density as well as reduced automobile-associated air and water pollution; its government through enhanced tax revenue due to increased population and commerce; and, finally, its overall populace due to these enhancements' cumulative bolstering of the quality of life of all Angelenos. Although L.A. remains the most congested city in America, the completion of these projects will help restore its long-lost status as one of the most livable cities in the world.
