Under current law, no privately owned fireworks are allowed inside the city of Calabasas.
Safe and Sane privately owned fireworks should be allowed in Calabasas provided they are not used near brushy area's or whiten 10 feet of houses.
They should be allowed between 8A.M and 11 PM to not disturb residences. Any damage caused by fireworks should be the responsibility of the fireworks owner to pay for. All people who light fireworks in Calabasas need to have a working hose that is a minimum 10 feet in length AND within 1 foot of the fireworks as a safety precaution.
They should be allowed between June 28th and July 4th, as they are in other cities, and as long as proper precautions are taken.
Calabasas is its own city and has a right to grant us the freedom of fireworks. For generations, Americans have celebrated freedom with fireworks, and that freedom to celebrate our freedom should continue today.
Of course, fireworks will remain illegal in dangerous areas, (such as near brush and schools) but in safe areas, like the middle of the street, minimal trees, etc, it will be legal.
