National Movement Against Global Warming

In signing this petition, I, as a citizen of the United States of America, demand that the government take action to combat the alarming effects of global warming. I pledge to do my fair share in the battle against this global crisis, but I also realize that for a widespread, dramatic change to occur, our government must take responsibility for its people and their actions.
This change could occur through one of the plethora of suggestions presented thus far. Some of these widely known recommendations are:
- Conserving our planets forests, particularly the rain forests, which provide most of our planets oxygen
- Making the switch to renewable resources, such as solar, wind, and biomass power
- Educating our nations youth of the devastating effects of careless habits that have dramatically altered our planet for the worse
And changes that I could make personally, as a single American citizen, could include:
- Choosing energy efficient appliances when making a purchase
- Turning off and/or unplugging electrical appliances when they are not in use
- Recycling
- Planting trees
- Buying organic foods on every occasion possible
- Walking or riding a bike whenever possible
- Choosing hybrid vehicles when buying a new car
- Checking tire pressure regularly
Therefore, by signing this petition, I challenge and demand my government to take action against the devastating, life-threatening effects of global warming. I hereby pledge to do my share to save our planet, and sincerely request that our countrys leaders do the same.
