I am petitioning against the FX network show "Starved" to be aired on August 4th, 2006. It is a "comedy" about people recovering and struggling with eating disorders. To me this is not funny and this show is unacceptable. The trailer of the show starts out with a man standing on a scale with a dissatisfied look on his face. He then goes into the bathroom, comes back out, and stands on the scale again. He now weighs about 3 pounds less. He smiles and goes on with his day. To me it is shocking that this is allowed to be on television. I am asking that people help me to stop this show. It is not right to have shows making fun of something that kills and physically and mentally takes control of people. Eating disorders are diseases that are not to be taken lightly. Thank you.
