Officials say agencies failed to rescue child

Hello my name is Garrett Im writing this petiton becasue of what my mom showed me in the news paper. On 6/21/08 my mom showed me an article that immediately caught my eyes. The name of the article was "officials say agencies failed to rescue child" I read through the article about half way through I begain to crie. It says in the article that this young kid was tortured by his mom and her girlfriend for more then 3 months. Some of the acts in my mind were unspeakable. They burned his genitals with a cigarette, burned his hand so badly he was unable to move it, broke his tooth to the point where you could see the nerve, and they also made him sit in his feces/urine. To set the record straight the kid is only 5 years old. Currently he is in the hospital with kidney failure. The reason he has kidney is because he was malnutrition. When you don't eat for an extended period of time your body gradually begains to eat its self. The main thing that got me mad was when you add up all the charges for the abusers it only totals 25 years. Thats was gets me enraged. 25 years. Personally im pushing for life in prison Life in prison not because i dislike the abusers because when you actually put yourself in that child's shoes the amount of psychological and physical abuse would have been unbareable. Can you honestly comprehend the amount of aganie this kid went through. I don't think most 5 year olds can take what he took. Thats why im asking for all you peoples help. Im writing a letter to congress to make sure the abusers get life in prison for their actions. No action the kid did or anyone did can justifie this. Please sign this petition.
