Peace and Justice in Iran

The governments treatment towards the people of Iran is in violation of basic human rights. The first article of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. The Iranian government is violating the fundamental human rights of the Iranian people, including their right to life and liberty (Article 3), protection from torture and inhuman treatment and punishment (Article 5), freedom of opinion and expression (Article 19), freedom of peaceful assembly (Article 20) and the freedom to partake in the government of his/her country (Article 21). The Iranian government is a member state of the United Nations; however, they do not adhere to the fundamental articles of the UDHR.
We ask the United Nations Secretary-General (Ban Ki-moon), as well as other world leaders, to take more assertive actions to denounce the Iranian governments actions and stand in solidarity with the Iranian people who are only asking for their freedom and human rights. Please respond quickly. It is the responsibility of all governments and human beings to stand for human rights, peace and freedom.
