We, the undersigned, Alumni, Students, Family and Friends of the Royal Oak Dondero High School Community hereby submit this petition to request the following action:
That the structure known as the " Auditorium" at Royal Oak Dondero High School be 'named for' and 'dedicated to' Mr. Rick Hartsoe, Vocal Music Director of Dondero High School.
During Mr. Hartsoe's 38+ years of teaching excellence, he has served the students, parents, and Royal Oak Community with zeal for his vocation, compassion for his students, and vision beyond imagination, working countless hours with unlimited patience. His humility and unique sense of humor has allowed him to reach his young students, helping to shape their futures and giving them the gift and the appreciation of music of every genre.
It is our opinion, that there is no one more deserving of such an honor as to have the site where upon he gave so generously to others, shared his knowledge, set worthwhile goals, and encouraged a positive atmosphere of learning than to have the Dondero High School Auditorium named The Rick Hartsoe Performing Arts Hall.
As the name of Dondero High School goes down in history, let the auditorium live on in the name of one it's most notable contributors as a cornerstone for future generations.
We propose that the Royal Oak School Board demonstrate respect for the united voices of its citizenry to defer to our appeal, grant this petition and make ready this action to occur during this last year of
Dondero High School 2005- 2006.
