Recently I have been staggered to find that playground fights have found their way onto Facebook and Youtube. I have also read with disgust that photos of muggings, assaults and honey traps have also found their way onto internet forums. My neighbour was walking his dog on common land just the other day when two teenagers took photos of him - without permission - and said they were going to put it on the internet.
Question: Am I alone in thinking this is completely insane? Where is the clear line to be drawn between public and private, decent and indecent? Have we sunk to such new lows as a society that we no longer consider a walk in the park private, or that we want to publicise physical violence and in doing so legitimise it or make it a normal state of affairs? We should (God forbid!) surely be able to keep our private affairs and whatever happens to us outside of the home - of whatever nature - to ourselves. If we want our personal lives/events to be publicised, then that should be a personal decision and we should own that decision.
