Preamble:
Cawston Cold Storage has made application to the ALC to change 5.8 acres of land within the ALR to "non-farm use". The land will be used to construct a 28,900 sq. ft. Controlled Atmosphere Storage facility. The land is prime agricultural and has been farmed for decades.
This industrial development will have an immense negative impact on Main St. Cawston, our community and neighbourhood.
Petition
We, the undersigned, call upon the ALC to oppose any application to change the land
use status at the corner of Pitt Rd. and Stewart Rd., Cawston. This 5.8 acre parcel
of land is prime agricultural land and must be preserved for the growing of food.
