We oppose HB 218. This bill undermines our state's ability to protect Lake Erie's shoreline and threatens public access to one of our most treasured natural resources.
We want to see our coastline open, healthy, and useful to future generations, with protections enforced to the high water mark.
We ask that the Senate amend this bill to secure public trust lands to the ordinary high water mark, protect the right of public access to Lake Erie's beaches, and ensure that the state will retain its role as steward of our coastal areas.
