Protection for Fauna and Flora and water bodies of the Granja Viana region - Proteção da Fauna, Flora e recursos hídricos da Granja Viana

Os cidadãos abaixo-assinados, no cumprimento do seu dever constitucional para a proteção do Meio Ambiente vêm exigir dos órgãos responsáveis providências imediatas para a interrupção de desmatamento de Mata Atlântica, com riscos à flora, fauna com espécies ameaçadas de extinção e raras, além de danos aos recursos hídricos e Áreas de Preservação Permanente. Tais fatos estão ocorrendo na Granja Viana, município de Carapicuíba, causados pela implantação do empreendimento imobiliário Loteamento Residencial Alphaville Granja Viana, situado à Avenida São Camilo (23°34'31.84"S 46°51'4.98"O), que desmatou cerca de 300 mil m² de Mata Atlântica, equivalente a 45 campos de futebol (FIFA), sem um apropriado estudo de impacto ambiental. Exigimos a recuperação imediata das áreas já destruídas e a apuração da responsabilidade funcional que está permitindo a devastação.

The citizens undersigned, fulfilling the civic duty on protecting the Environment hereby demand from the responsible government and its environmental agency immediate actions for interrupting the deforestation of the rainforest, with serious risks to fauna and flora - including endangered species both identified (e.g. Penelope obscura) - besides damages to the water bodies and its preservation (e.g. floodable) areas. Such crime against mankind and nature is taking place at 23°34'31.84"S 46°51'4.98"O, Carapicuíba city, São Paulo State, Brazil, with an estimated deforested area greater than 300.000m2 - over 45 soccer fields (FIFA standards). We demand the immediate recuperation of the destroyed areas and the investigation on the responsibilities for those who approved it.
