Put Newsies back in Theatres

The movie Newsies, based on the newsboys strike of 1899, was a big, fat, flop. There is absolutely no doubt about it. It had barely any publicity and pulled in half usual amount of money for a Hollywood film. But there are reasonable explanations for this; first of all, Newsies came out in about the worst time ever, musicals were just going out of style and people were starting to get sick of them, second of all there was almost no publicity so not enough people knew about it for it to make a good sum of money, and third, Kenny Ortegas style of directing and choreography was new, yet very trademark, and so people thought it to be slightly unusual. But all of that was over eleven years ago.
Since then, Newsies has become a steadily rising hit. Amazon.com currently has four hundred and eighty seven reviews of Newsies, four hundred and eighty five of which are good ones. When they stopped selling Newsies on VHS and the Newsies soundtrack, millions of devoted fans begged for its return, and their wish was granted. Then there was a huge request for a Newsies DVD, and that too, was fulfilled. But us, Newsies fans are still not satisfied. We feel that Newsies needs a second chance. We feel that Newsies not only deserves to be put on the big screen, but we also feel that it could do a lot better than it did in 1992.
So what I am trying to say is, please put Newsies back in theatres and trust me, you will not regret it.
