A new policy is a clear violation of fundamental human rights.

The new policy of Govt of India to introduce 27\% reservation for OBCs in 20 central universities, IITs and IIMs is going to violate fundamental human rights. Have a look at following Article 26 of Universal Declaration of human rights, adopted and proclaimed by UN General Assembly which says that education has be based on Merit and shall be equally accessible to all-

http://www.un.org/Overview/rights.html

############################################
Article 26.

(1) Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.

(2) Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace.

(3) Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.

so, friends, let fight for young indian guys who are going to spend days and nights to get admissions and still cannot get it because merit is not the governing factor. That guy has to wait until govt make right policies to provide help and education support to OBCs. We support help to OBCs but violating findamental right is not the way to do it. We believe that providing financial support and other means like free primary education or even financial support to help them prepare for competive examination is right way to resolve these issues. OBCs are part of India and we would like to them to prosper and be educated to highest level possible but definitely, in a right way.

388. Ganesh Reed | Reservation should be based only on economical considerations.By giving reservation on the basis of caste, the state is alienating a section of people of this country. The repurcussions of this move would be disastrous for the unity of our nation.
