Revoke Membership of International Puppy Mill Broker, Andrew Hunte, from German Shepherd Dog Club of America

We, the undersigned, come together to request the Club Officers and Members of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America to terminate the membership of Andrew Hunte, founder of The Hunte Corporation.

Our request is based on the following:

The self acclaimed Hunte Corporation is the world's leading licensed distributor of pure-bred puppies to pet stores.*1 The puppies come from mass commercial breeders in the midwest commonly referred to as Puppy Mills.

Customers say their dogs needed expensive vet treatments and their registrations were suspicious. "The Hunte Corporation has been associated with lots of problems, just ask almost any breeder who actually is ethical, and they'll tell you they have a lot of problems."

The Hunte Corporation is listed as the point of origin for most of the puppies brought to our attention. Papers shown to us by Puppy Patch customers list the Hunte Corporation's address in Missouri.

Stark says the business has a poor reputation well beyond the Show Me State's borders. "They're known to take puppies from puppy mills and sell them through pet shops across the country."

During the GSDCA's 'closed door' meeting, "the biggest news brag Hunte had was about his new incinerator, which is to take the place of what was alleged to be nothing more than a huge ditch at the back of the corporate property. As was seen on TV in a different puppy mill expose, instead of shoveling dead dogs and puppies into the ditch, the bodies can be disposed of in the new incinerator." *2

The By-Laws of the GSDCA clearly states "Any member may prefer charges against any other member for alleged misconduct prejudicial to the best interests of the Club or the breed." *3

The Hunte Corporation does not stand up to the clearly defined purpose of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America. The purposes for which the Corporation was formed are:

"To promote the breeding of the German Shepherd Dog; to define precisely and publish definition of the true type, and to urge the adoption of such types on breeders, judges, dog show committees, etc., as the only recognized and unvarying standard by which the German Shepherd Dog is to be judged, and which may in the future be uniformly accepted as the sole standard of excellence in breeding and awarding prizes of merit; to do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by offering prizes, supporting certain shows, encouraging the development of working qualities and taking any other steps that may seem advisable, to promote its most conspicuous characteristics as Police Dog, War Dog, Red Cross Dog, and Herding Dog; to encourage therefore all trial and demonstrations in which those qualities may be shown, so as to interest the public generally, but especially the police and other municipal organizations in our ideals." *4
