We, the below citizens of the United States and the Great State of Mississippi, who have signed this petition, hereby request the Government of the State of Mississippi to stop the campaign of slander and abasement against our Southern Heritage by special interest groups! The flag of the Great State of Mississippi is beautiful and represents everything that is good and unique about our southern heritage. These same special interest groups, while attacking our southern heritage, celebrate their own heritage openly. Please leave our heritage, flag and monuments alone. We are all Americans, the Great American Civil War proved it so. Can you not leave us our honor??
