To the MEPs from the island of Ireland
Honourable members of the European parliament
We ask you as members of the European Parliament representing the interests of the Irish people to use your influence to stop the EU appeasement of the fundamentalist religious regime in Iran. Despite the dictatorial and oppressive nature of the religious rulers in Iran, the European parliament is comfortable in recognising this regime as the legitimate government in Iran in order to protect their own economic interests. As a result it has turn a blind eye to the human rights abuses that are perpetrated by this regime against its own people. This is indefensible.
This policy of appeasement goes on despite the violation of the Tehran agreement.
We ask you members of the European parliament, to take a stand against the undemocratic regime in Iran and end Europes failed policy of appeasement.
In contrast to a foreign war as threatened by the Bush administration or the EUs failed policy of appeasement, the third option, namely democratic change by the people of Iran and the Iranian Resistance, is the option, which democratic forces across Europe have to endorse.
We are therefore calling on you as MEPs within the European Parliament to:
Call for the immediate removal of the Peoples Mojahedin from the international terrorist list;
End the policy of appeasement of the mullahs regime;
Oppose any proposed foreign military intervention in Iran;
Support the right of the Iranian people, through the Iranian Resistance to determine their own future.
