Dear YouTube,
Lately, many youtube users have seen their videos removed due to false copyright claims. This practice has had a huge negative impact both on the community as whole, through the loss if many wonderful and educational videos, and on the individual user, who losses of many friends, because those who where suspended on false accusations will generally refuse to return and move to other sites where their work will be respected.
Also by simply removing videos, without thoroughly verifying both the claim and the claimant, and without soliciting any evidence in support of the claim, You Tube is ignoring one of the most fundamental rights of man, that right of being innocent until proven otherwise.
Through this petition we politely ask youtube to demand that any claimant also provides proof attesting that they own the complained video or any parts of it. If the claim will be discovered as beeing fraudulent we also politely ask youtube to take full legal measures against the claimant.
