As more pressure is put on us to grow our own vegetables and to be more self sustaining in this time of economic instability you would like to think you would have the support of your local government.
However on the Isle of Man it appears not, they seem to be going out of their way to make maintaining our plots increasingly difficult. Planning permission for the erection of sheds and greenhouses has been repeatedly turned down and very weak grounds. This has now culminated in the local authority telling us we are not now allowed, grassed areas, grow flowers (unless cutting them to sell on), paved areas, tables or benches. This is just part of the list I shall be putting full list on my blog www.plot24online.com
So please help to stop the bureaucratic madness and sign this petition, I will be presenting to the planning authority in 1 Month so please tell as many people as you can to come and sign it

To grow fruit,vegetables and flowers.We need cold frames,greenhouses,sheds,potting tables,compost bins,raised beds,paths,water butts,frames for trailing/climbing fruit,a place to sit and have a rest with a cuppa.Why flowers are to be excluded ?as they are

we get great veg from this plot, and a great comunity feeling, my shed makes it possible to spend the day here and not have to travel back and forth to Ramsey for bits all the time.
