Tascam US-2400 MIDI Control Surface Continued Support

The author of this petition, along with the undersigned, wishes to ask Tascam (hereafter referred to as the company) to continue support for their MIDI USB DAW Control Surface Model #: US-2400 and develop and release a device software driver for it in order to remedy issues with "class compliance" as well. That is, we ask the company to make all versions of the supported DAW multitrack software sequencers(Ex:Cubase etc.) compatible with the US-2400 control surface. We also ask the company to continue support for this product in the future and continue to develop and release firmware updates when needed. We understand that the US-2400 has been around for a considerable amount of time and that it has recently been discontinued because of its lead content(which has been banned in Europe,) but many of us have only owned the interface for a short time and are having many issues with its functionality that we are no longer receiving support for through the companies technical support department and email support. Furthermore, many of us are musicians, audio engineers and freelancers who are not affluent enough to purchase a new interface every few years. To those of us who have been affected harshly by the companys failure to support its own product, the companys actions seem nothing short of rude and arrogant in that it assumes it can torture us in this way and still expect to have loyal customers.

Some of us might have intentions to upgrade our control surface, but as we have only had it a short time, we wish to get more use from it first. The company has put me in a tight situation, as I am a freelance audio engineer, and I am now unable to use my digital audio workstation with the US-2400 without flaws, and have not the money for an upgrade at the moment. The company has failed me, and all of the undersigned, in ceasing support for the US-2400. I and the undersigned plead with the company to return support for this control surface to their software as soon as possible, or to offer a much more lucrative deal for us to upgrade, since the upgrades are being forced upon us so harshly.
