The Adult Swim Fans VS. Moral Orel

We the undersigned Adult Swim fans present to you at William Street our petition to put an end to Moral Orel and it's attacks on our faith. Every episode of this show has made it very clear, if nothing else, that Dino Stamatopoulos is a very bitter man. We get that. We just wish he would deal with the issues he has with religion in a more sensible way than to attack Christianity in specific on every single weekly installment of this show. But this is not just a petition against a show; this is a call for change in Adult Swim. We the undersigned are Christians and happen to very big fans of Adult Swim. Shocking as it may seem, we are not uptight, Bible-beating, jew hating snake handlers as we have been portrayed on shows such as the aforementioned, as well as Squidbillies and Sealab 2021. We the undersigned don't know what strange part of the Bible belt (Atlanta, GA?) that you all at William Street hail from, but frankly, we find such stereotypes offensive: no one really acts like that in any Christian community that we know of. No one! It's appalling.

Yes, you get away with making fun of minority groups in both Boondocks and Minoriteam. And frankly, we'd be lying if we said we didn't laugh at those shows. But it's those groups' responsiblity to stand up for themselves, not ours. We feel we constitute a significant portion of your audience, and we're sick and tired of Moral Orel and various episodes of shows such as Squidbillies being made in horrible taste, attacking specifically Christian beliefs and painting portraits of hypocrisy and views of general idiocy that we honestly thought that Adult Swim was too sophisticated to support in their comedy programs. So we're standing up for ourselves. We're smart enough to watch Adult Swim, right? But the Christians in Moral Orel, specifically an entire town of them, do nothing but support ignorance by banning a mile-long list of books from their library! Is this really what you guys at William Street think about Christians? There are those of us who may want to work for William Street one day: is that even possible? Moral Orel is indeed just one show, but the implications driven by William Street's support of this misleading, mindless, unfunny, blatant attack on what happens to be the religion of choice of many of your very own viewers are nothing short of disturbing.

We LOVE Adult Swim, and there are those of us that can forgive the network no matter what it dishes out at us, because some of us have been around since the Ghost Planet Industries days. Adult Swim is just plain funny, and nothing will change that (we hope).

But, please.....leave the cheap, tasteless religion-bashing to Hollywood, and bring us more brilliant, innovative humor such as 12-oz. Mouse and
Dethklok Metalocalypse.
