WHEREAS, customer satisfaction is the feeling that a product or service has met the customer expectation; and
WHEREAS, customer expectation is normally an integral part of a companys customer value proposition; and
WHEREAS, the Apple Inc. corporation ("Apple") has continually marketed its products in such a way [e.g. "Byte into an Apple" (Late 1970s), "Soon there will be 2 kinds of people. Those who use computers, and those who use Apples." (Early 1980s), "The Power to Be Your Best" (1990), "Think different." (1990s), "The Computer for the rest of us", and "The home computer that's ready to work, play and grow with you"] to suggest to the customer that its products were dynamically superior to its competition (i.e. Windows-based PCs) due to their ability to better augment their creativity, as well as their professional and personal growth; and
WHEREAS, Apple has been tremendously successful in marketing to its customers that their lives will be enriched through the purchase of Apple products because of their functionality and flexibility for creatively-minded media artists and practitioners; and
WHEREAS, Apple's great success is due in equal part to its product ingenuity, and the open marketplace that allowed that product ingenuity to blossom; now, therefore, be it,
RESOLVED, That Apple customers who may not happen to own an iPhone should be allowed to utilize their Mac computers and iPods to their full extent; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That this petition serve as notice to the Apple Corp. that they should cease punishing otherwise loyal customers by sabotaging the ability of one of its competitors (the Palm Pre) to synchronize services with these customer's legally-obtained and purchased computers, and the software that they contain (including iTunes, iCal, and Address Book); and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a final copy of this petition will be forwarded to the United States' Department of Justice, the President of the United States, the Congress of the United States, and to all the members of every state delegation to the congress with the request that this resolution be officially entered in the Congressional Record as a memorial to the Congress of the United States of America.
