BattleField Earth, a novel by L. Ron Hubbard, heralding from the height of the sci-fi era is an epic saga which pits good vs. evil. BattleField Earth is a lengthy novel which has been appreciated by millions of fans world-wide. It has spent over 32 weeks on National Bestseller Lists, sold over 5,000,000 copies, and been translated into 20 languages So when BattleField Earth fans heard they were making a Battlefield Earth movie they were extremely excited. Although the end result was just extreme disapointment. It was maybe the worst movie ever made without even needing to compare it to the book. Once compared to the existing work it is just appalling. This is when one gets to thinking about the Lord of the Rings trilogy which is a very a well-done book to movie transition. People wonder what the turn out would be if the movie was given to a man such as Peter Jackson(if it is a book he can enjoy, and a project he is interested in doing), a man who can appreciate the original work and will do all that he can not to destroy it, so that he can write, direct, and produce it. Maybe even be allowed to do it in installments so as to not sacrifice valuable literature for the 2 hr. time limit on movies that we've grown accustomed to. This is why we ask Warner Bros. to either sell their rights to a new production of the movie to a different company, or finance a project done by Peter Jackson wtih full artistic artistic freedom. Also we request that Mr. Jackson atleast consider the possibility of pursuing a remake of BattleField Earth.
