The Thin Red Line - Director's Cut

I, along with many others, believe The Thin Red Line to be a great film, arguably one of the best films of all time. We urge the makers of this film to release the original cut of the film on DVD, the one Malick originally presented to the studios before reediting for a theatrical release. Online sources tell us that the original version was almost 6 hours in length and had entire characters and storylines that were later left on the cutting-room floor.

I would gladly pay to see this additional footage, and so would thousands of others. Please release a director's cut edition. It is, after all, in the best interests of 20th Century Fox to do so.

This is the best movie ever made. How could you not release an extended cut of a movie considered by many, many people including some of my friends and family to be one of the best films of all time? I'd be willing to pay over a $100 for an extended cut.
