The Jewish community in the Silver Spring area is grateful and appreciative of the efforts of Blair Mill Giant to expand kosher food availability, both in fresh meats and cheeses as well as frozen items.

The observant Jewish community continues to grow in the Blair Mill area. There are two Orthodox synagogues represented in the immediate area as well as one Conservative synagogue. We are requesting that Kosher Challah be considered and made available for sale from Wednesday through Sunday. Having Kosher Challah is a requirement for the Jewish Sabbath, and availability will help bring additional business to the Blair Mill Giant.

Many of us are forced to do our Kosher shopping in other areas, such as Kemp Mill or Rockville, due to Kosher Challah not being available. If Blair Mill Giant were able to have Kosher Challah available, this would help bring in additional shoppers.

We are requesting a 3-month trial of Kosher Challah at the Blair Mill Giant and are confident that sales will reflect the high demand for Kosher Challah, while not detracting from the Giant bakery sales.
