it is time for the government of Ontario to force the cell phone companies to have truth in advertising.
The advertised price is the actual cost of the goods or services plus HST.
Currently cell phone companies (read: Rogers,Bell,Telus) do not advertise the actual billing amount for their cell phone and data plans.
In 2010, the Ontario government introduced "All-in Pricing" for the automotive retail industry. That means that the advertised price is the price consumers pay. Automotive dealers are not allowed to "add" any fees or extra charged to their advertised price.
Our Ontario government should enact similar legislation for the cellular phone industry.
